VORTEX

53 years old. That’s my age. And maybe this is why I paint more often now a days. As some kind of mid-life crisis therapy. Or is it that I have got more time on my hands? Or maybe it because I prioritize it? No matter what, I have created more in the last five years than the rest combined. I am hope and which that I will continue to love it – it gives and has given me so much in different ways!
For this piece, I focused on balance and imbalance at the same time. Vertical lines, blocks of color, and subtle details create a rhythm that slowly reveals itself. I’m interested in how structure can hold emotion – how repetition, texture and small disruptions ca carry something human.
